Learn Our Story
The Bailey family has a rich history in the Inland Empire dating to the 1880s. Not only did they have one of the only doctors in the area, but their forefathers also had a grocery store and multiple gas stations. Herbert Bailey (Scott’s father) moved his family to Sunnymead (now known as Moreno Valley) in the mid-sixties. Fred Neff (Beverly’s father) was stationed at March Air Force Base and moved his family to the area in the 70s. Scott and Beverly both attended Moreno Valley High School, where they met.
In 1991, Beverly and Scott had a vision of creating an Electrical Trade company. Built from their kitchen table with a small handful of employees and clients, they were able to successfully grow and transition into a now large, award-winning design and construction firm known as Stronghold Engineering, Inc.
Their children- Brandon, Kyler and Alyssa- all continue to call Riverside home. The family works together daily on the business of Stronghold Engineering, Inc., Bailey California Properties, and their off-road race team Stronghold Motorsports.
Original Farm House Motel Story
Originally constructed in 1953, the Farm House Motel was operated for 32 years by Isidore & Marie Claire Camou and their family. The Camous were part of a large local Basque community originally drawn to Riverside to run the dairies that once filled the area.
The Farm House was always a quaint and family friendly spot and its new iteration will honor the welcoming spirit of the original owners. The Farm House Motel was designated as a City of Riverside Historic Landmark as of June 5, 2019 as one of the last remaining examples of a motor court in the region, if not in all of California, distinguished in its farm house style, with the original sign from its origins. The architectural style of the original buildings and sign signify California’s farming culture.
